It's Prom time.........

No no not for me but my son. He did not go. What is with that I don't understand it. As I did last year I volunteered for post prom. I had a blast just watching the kids and happy to help make it a successful and safe night for the kids. I am not use to this who cares attitude. His sister was the extreme opposite and still is. Difference between boys and girls. I think not, the youngest of my lot is a boy and he is very outgoing like his sister. The only difference is he takes a moment to warm up to new people and then he is good. So back to anti prom child. His friends begged him I told him he will regret it when he is older. He just thinks I am crazy. They did not do post prom in my time. Before the dark ages, trust. So I can only hope that in college he will come out of his shell and bloom so to speak. Then again I maybe asking for trouble in that statement. He is graduating at the end of May and has already said he does not want an open house or to attend graduation. We will see.......

Monday Monday

Hello fellow bloggers. Crazy day today. I swear God made women the ultimate machines. We always rise to the occasion no matter if it is a friend in need, volunteer at school, church or community, cook and clean. But nothing rocks our very being more than when something happens to one our children. Today was that day for me. My daughter and I are very close. Today we spent it helping a friend with some moving and the daycare thing that we do. She worked earlier and then we to school and off we went. Get home and she is just exhausted so she goes and lays down since she works very early morning hours. I went off to work. We chat later on the phone she went out to pick up something to eat and was headed back home to go back to bed. Next thing I get a call and she tells me she has been rear ended at an intersection close to home and could I please come. Seems easy enough okay I am on my way. Well on the way to the accident I remember that I did not tell her to call 911 since they were not on private property. So I call her cell phone. No answer. Try again several times. No answer. So by now I am starting to panic a little. I think maybe she has called her Dad and this is why she is not answering. So I call him, can tell I have woke him up. He has not spoken to her and so he starts calling her. Same response. So he is now on his way. So I am the first parent to arrive and I jump out to find two youngs girls standing there looking at their vehicles. Mom mode kicks in and I asking my daughter where is her phone and why is she not answering it and how all these crazy things are going through my head and her father is now his way because I got him out of bed for her fender bender. So we call 911 they never show the Dads settle it between them. Moral of this story always keep your phones with you so we can save a few gray hairs.

Welcome back to the world of blogging....

Wow I cannot believe that I started this blog almost 2 years ago. Needless to say that things have not been boring or dull in the least. Note to self be a better blogger. (lol) Someone I know has started a blog and that what brought me back to this place I have not visited in quite sometime. Since I have last visited a lot of things have happened. I had my neice and nephews for 8 months for foster care. I have a child graduating from high school and one from college. The youngest is in 7th grade and will be turning 13 soon. The other two will tell yes he is the baby and he is spoiled. Truth be told they are spoiled. If they don't believe me they don't have too far too look as their cousins have a tough road ahead. Very sad for 3 very bright and beautiful children having to grow up at the same time as their parents. I am have never been able to understand how people can bring children into this world and not step up. I have learned more about a broken system that claims to care for our children than I think I ever wanted to. Lets just say I don't think CPS did my niece and nephews any favors taking them away from parents just to return them to a nothing has changed enviroment. My sister is 10 yrs younger than myself. We were raised in the same house and are two very different people. I am still working at the same place at night and do daycare by day. Talk about never a dull moment I have 3 children I had my niece and 2 nephews plus daycare children last summer equals 11 lunches a day. On two occasions last summer I had people ask me if all the children were mine. Mind you the children in themselves are a rainbow of colors ranging in age from 2 to 27. Me being me said yes, yes they are because in a way they are. You cannot spend that much time with anyone young or old and be a part of their lives. Truth be told I prefer the company of children to adults. Our summer is spent swimming, garage selling, picnics, feeding the ducks, movies and any other project we can do. During the school year we do homework and study for tests. Now that my sister has her children back I have two new ones that have entered the world of foster care and sad their mother is in her 20's and due to meth that has a stronger hold on her than these two children she looks older than me. Next time you lock eyes with that little person looking up to you remember you are looking at our future and what are you doing to help them get there successfully.
